"TRUE ART IS BUT AN EXPRESSION OF OUR LOVE OF NATURE"
- Henry David Thoreau
Award-winning coastal, wine country artist Adriane Hatkoff is known for her brilliant watercolor paintings of Northern California's land and seascapes. Her vibrant use of luminous color, highlights and shadows recreates and dramatizes the viewer's connection and oneness with the environment. Recognized for her "color extraordinaire her watercolors express acute depth perception... very alive yet soothing!"
Ms. Hatkoff obtained her art degree in the eastern USA. She became a children's book illustrator for J.P. Lippincott Publishers in New York City. Then she found herself being called to warmer environs and came to the bay area where she attended school in Berkeley, receiving her certification as a textile designer. She worked with a rep in San Francisco selling her designs until she took the plunge to challenge herself with her deepest passion, watercolor. Since, Adriane lives, paints and teaches in Sonoma County, California. Her beautiful greeting cards and matted prints of her unique watercolors are available worldwide in shops, galleries and wineries. You can often find her chatting and selling her cards and prints at the Santa Rosa Farmers Market on Saturday mornings or e-mail her at Adrianedesigns@yahoo.com.
